YOUR K- BEAUTY GUIDE: To Support Your Skin Care Journey!

This K-Beauty Moisturizer Is a Savior for My Rosacea Skin!

It’s not easy to find a skincare product that does not irritate my sensitive skin. It became even harder for me to find one after I was diagnosed with Rosacea! This means I could not use too many products for fear of risking inflammation and irritation, and the few products I could, which were termed sensitive skin friendly, just did not seem to yield much results!
I first came across the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream through blog reviews I read online, especially on Reddit subs. The Klairs Blue Cream seemed to be listed under every thread titled ‘Korean Skincare for Sensitive Skin’. I realized that I had to give this moisturizer a try!

What’s in the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream?

Of course, I had to take a deep-dive into the ingredients to make sure it was safe for my skin.

The star ingredient of the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is Guaiazulene, known for its anti-inflammatory properties which help support a healthy skin barrier. Guaiazulene is a chamomile extract which gives the cream its beautiful shade of blue. (Did you know blue happens to be my favorite color? Maybe another reason why I love this cream so much!)
I have now become a huge fan of Guaiazulene and look forward to more skincare products featuring this ingredient!
Another key ingredient is Centella Asiatica extract, a powerhouse herb aka ‘tiger grass’ that helps calm irritation and redness. This extract is known to repair damaged skin and prevent scars.
The blue cream also contains three different peptides and a host of other amazing ingredients, for the full list, please check the Beauty Barn website here.

Texture & Feel:

The Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream 30ml comes in a thick, jar while the 60ml comes in a plastic tube.
It has a smooth, silky texture. It absorbs well into the skin without leaving an oily residue. But keep in mind, to use only a pea sized amount at a time, don’t go overboard with the quantity.
This award-winning blue cream is fragrance -free, vegan, and cruelty-free. It is also formulated without parabens, silicone, ethanol, artificial color, and essential oils.

How To Use the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream:

1. I use it as the last step of my skincare routine, right before my sunscreen.
2. I also use it as a spot treatment on days when I’m out in the sun for too long.
3. On days when my skin is feeling extra dehydrated, I follow the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream with another hydrating moisturizer.
4. Since I have extremely sensitive skin, I don’t follow this step but I’ve read how amazing the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream also works amazing for post-care laser and professional skincare treatments.

Final Takeaway:

Originally, the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream is supposed to be used as a spot treatment and not as an actual moisturizer. People love using it after their chemical exfoliation routine, or like I mentioned above, use it to calm post-shaving rash, or sunburnt skin, but personally for me, this works like a charm as a daily moisturizer.
Until, I find another Korean moisturizer that does an amazing job at instantly relieving my angry, irritated skin, I’m going to stick to the Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream.
