The Review
My Experience
Initially,I started using the By Wishtrend Mandelic acid, 5 times a week at night. I have extremely dry, flaky and dull skin, with excess whiteheads on my chin and forehead. During the first week of use, my skin started purging as I, perhaps, over exfoliated my skin. So, I reduced its application from five to three times a week at night. On the second, and third week, I could see some changes and, also feel the difference on my skin. I noticed that my skin was feeling smoother, and the dry flakes were gone. I saw that my skin was glowing, and had that brightening tone. The whiteheads on my chin and forehead disappeared, and my previous acne marks, and tiny brown spots around my cheeks, and nose, also faded.
With just 5% of mandelic acid, which is much milder than glycolic acid, it worked wonders on my skin by gently exfoliating the dead skin cells, but without irritating my skin. It helped prepare my skin for the subsequent steps in my skincare routine. It showed effective cell turnover, and after 2 months it improved my skin texture too. My skin went from dry, dull and, dehydrated to bright, glowy and smooth skin. It has been over 15 months now, and since the day I added Mandelic acid to my skincare routine, I have not experienced acne or whiteheads until now.
As for my complete skincare routine, after I apply mandelic acid, I layer my skin with Isntree Hyaluronic acid toner plus, Isntree Hyaluronic acid moist cream and, Isntree Hyaluronic acid essence and sunscreen.
Texture
Mandelic acid has a very lightweight, watery texture that absorbs into the skin right away without leaving any residues, stickiness or smell. With melanin inhibiting, and micro exfoliating properties, mandelic acid can regulate sebum production, so it is suitable for oily,acne prone, and sensitive skin too.
Ingredients
Mandelic acid, is an alpha hydroxy acid (aha) that is derived from bitter almonds.It has been mostly studied, and used for acne, but it helps in firming, exfoliating and brightening skin. It is a go- to anti-aging ingredient in the world of skincare.
Some Tips
Always use a hydrating toner, and moisturizer and a good sunscreen with high SPF, if you are incorporating any kind of exfoliating agent to your skincare routine.
